Social Activities
We offer a wide range of social activities and events throughout the year, catering to both long-stay and short-course students.
Summer months
During the summer, we have a lot of short-course students and interest in our social programme is high. We offer a wide range of activities and events, including:
Pub Night: Our most popular activity, Pub Night is held every Thursday at a city centre pub.
Salsa dancing classes: We offer salsa dancing classes taught by one of our teachers.
Guitar lessons: We offer guitar lessons at a nominal cost.
Guided tours of Oxford: We arrange guided tours of Oxford city centre for new students.
Ice skating: We offer ice skating sessions at a nearby rink.
Bowling: We offer bowling sessions as part of our summer activity programme.
Barbecues: We hold barbecues on warm summer evenings.
Shakespeare in the park: We take students to see a Shakespeare play performed in an outdoor theatre.
Tours of colleges and university buildings: We regularly organize tours to Oxford University colleges and important buildings, including Christ Church College and the Bodleian Library.
Christmas party: We hold an annual Christmas party for students who stay with us over Christmas.
Please note that some of these activities will require payment.
Winter months
Long-stay students often make their own friends and plan their own social events, so our social programme is not as extensive during the winter months. However, there are still plenty of things for students to do, including:
Pub Night: Every Thursday, we go to a city centre pub for a fun evening of socializing and practicing English.
Football training: On most weekends, we offer football training (with an FA-qualified coach) for students on short courses.
Visits to museums and art galleries: We regularly visit four museums and two art galleries near the school, including the Ashmolean Museum and the Natural History Museum.
Weekend excursions: We offer a variety of weekend excursions by coach, including trips to London, Bath, and Stonehenge.
Please not that some of these activities will require payment.
