Au pairs
Au pairs are welcome

Au pairs are welcome at Oxford School of English, and before Brexit our total number of around 160 students usually included some 30 au pairs.
As a result of Brexit, however, au pair work is possible only if you are from the EU and have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, are eligible to apply for this Scheme, hold a Youth Mobility Scheme or a Skilled Worker visa, or are here with a Student Visa.
Low price
Au pairs are entitled to special low prices, even though the classes they join are the standard courses for which other students pay a higher price. We recognise that part of the reason for au pairs being here in Oxford is a desire to learn English, and also that their pay is low; and we want to do what we can to help.
Flexibility

Au pairs can attend as many or as few classes as they are able. Au pairs pay only for the classes they attend. Of course, we encourage au pairs to attend full-time, but we recognise that they have other commitments in childcare and if they are unable to come every day, or for the full morning, that's fine.
Class times
Lessons start each morning at 09:30, enabling most au pairs to take their children to school before joining us. In some cases, au pairs are unable to arrive before 09:30, and that's fine too – as long as we know when you will arrive, it should be possible to arrange for them to enter a classroom 10 or 15 minutes late.
